Just Keep Digging Day 2

The First Shovelful

Devotional

Beginning any spiritual discipline can feel overwhelming. Whether it's starting a prayer routine, diving into Bible study, or developing a worship practice, the initial steps often seem daunting. But here's an encouraging truth: every deep well starts with the first shovel of dirt. You don't have to have it all figured out or dig to the bottom on day one. Start where you are, with what you have. Maybe it's five minutes of prayer, one verse to meditate on, or a simple song of praise. What matters isn't the depth of your beginning, but your willingness to start digging.

Bible Verse

"Isaac planted crops in that land and the same year reaped a hundredfold, because the Lord blessed him." - Genesis 26:12

Reflection Question

What small step could you take today to begin digging your spiritual well deeper?

Quote

"We can't dig deep until we dig shallow. We have to do that first shovel full before we can get down deep."

Prayer

Lord, give me the courage to begin, even if my first steps seem small. Help me trust that You will honor my efforts to grow closer to You, one shovelful at a time. Amen.
